Introduction to HabiScapes and
Low-maintenance Gardening HabiScapes is owned, and operated
by Sue and Gordon Scaggs.
- residents of Missoula 30+ years
- long-term research of grizzly bear habitat with the Dr. John
Craighead research institute
- both are Master Gardeners
- Sue coordinated the Backyard Wildlife Habitat Program for
the National Wildlife Federation, Missoula
- Gordon is a habitat biologist with an M.S. from U. of Montana.
HabiScapes'
spectacular ponds and waterfalls are recirculating and filtering
constantly, so do not serve as breeding areas for mosquitoes that
prefer standing water. Whether a single pond or multiple ponds
with connecting cascades of waterfalls and creeks, HabiScapes'
water features replicate natural flowing mountain creeks and pools.
